Fifa president said if just 1 thing like that happens, he will pull Fifa out of the WM. Since then nothing has happened. The loss of the Fifa support would end the WM tourny. Not to worry its been sportsmanlike thus far. Well minus a few minor tackles that were rather nasty.

SPAIN KICKED THE CRAP OUT OF THE UKRAINE 4-0!

It wasn't that hot of a debut on the Brazilians part, and the Croatians did their best to outplay them, but a win is a win, and that's all that matters. They'll improve with that one under their belt.

What I'm really disappointed with so far is Rooney-less England. Hats off to South Korea, Australia, and Mexico for their impressive wins.

Can someone explain to me why the Polish goalkeeper got a yellow card?

and I so hoped that it would stay 0 - 0 but.. as my mum said thats how the 'sweinhunden' are always scoring in the last minute .. (my apologizies to the German people here.. )

I love the German philosophy on football-defend, defend, score an unspectacular but effecient goal, defend some more, and come away with and unexiting but solid 1-0 win. Good to see them back on form..

Since I'm Australian, I'll be cheering on Australia which are currently at the top of group F even above Brazil with their 3-1 win over Japan.

Even though everyone is cheering on Brazil, I think they're not in form and are massively overrated this time with their unimpressive 1-0 win over Croatia. Though Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Adriano and Kaka is probably a slightly weaker combination than the Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo combo from last WC.

England have probably their best chance at WC victory in over a decade so I'll be interested in how they go.

France... well sometimes they're absolutely terrible and sometimes they're a powerhouse. It seems form plays a large role in that team.

Germany is always consistent and I believe they'll make it to or near the finals yet again.

Czech republic were monsters in their game against USA and are definitely a strong side, even stronger than Brazil from their performance. I mean they were literally sniping goals from waaaaay outside the box.

As for Italy, I totally hate the way that team plays. The number of dives their players take is disgraceful. One player took a dive inside the box, rolled around in pain clutching his knee and had to be carried off the field. Literally 2 minutes later he was back on playing flawlessly. That's even more disgraceful than what Rivaldo did in 02 however the entire Italian team seemed to be doing this tactic to get penalties.

Give Brazil time, they usually start out slow. Once they get rolling they will be nearly unstoppable. They are favorites again and i think that they have a great chance of winning it all. The germans might give them a run as well as the Czechs, but i just see Brazil being to good.

Hence I avoid watching Germany as often as possible. Sometimes it feels as though their tactic is to bore the opposition to death with their repetitive and robotic play style.

Compared with Guildwars, Germany would be a HA group with 4 heal monks and 4 prot monks. They'll heal each other none-stop so that no damage could ever come to them and hopefully they'll get lucky and wand someone to death.

Spain 4, Ukraine 0. Tunisia & Saudi Arabia, 2-2 draw.

Spain looked impressive in that one. Tunisia is always a solid African Nations or Middle East side. Nice to see two Muslim nations playing solidly so far on European soil.

As for Germany v. Poland, I really thought they were going to end up in a nil-nil draw until Neuville booted a cross in to win the night for Germany. That must be a real heartbreaker for Poland.

Tomorrow's Predictions:

Costa Rica beats Ecuador
England steps up and romps Trinidad & Tobago
Paraguay upsets Sweden

Well if Germany's game plan is to score 1 time and defend, how do you explain their first game? Teams score whenever possible, as much as possible... Look at what Spain did. They didnt need to score those other 2 goals. The only team Ive seen that doesnt run the score up is the South Koreans, who last game, booted an 11 meter kick backwards towards their own goal. The crowd was not pleased. Predictions... if I can stay awake through the boredom of watching these teams...

Ecuador d. Costa Rica, England d. T/T, Paraguay ties with Sweden.

It wasn't exactly a Blitzkrieg as I thought it would be..

I watched a bit of the game when I came home because it was already on.. and I remembered why I hated football all that time.

I just can't watch sports anyway. I want to play it myself, not just sit there and watch others play the game.

Join the club...^^... Well, ok, I wouldnt play soccer though.

Germany had like 25 shots at the goal, and not only was the polish goal keeper good, so were the goal posts. Ive never seen so many shots deflect off a goal post in one game.

I can undertsand that..I always take the old football out every day during the world cup.

Anyway, I can't stand to turn on a British channel til the commentators shut up about England's great, great victory over the all conquering Trinidad and Tobago.

I'd say inefficient coaching kept us (T&T) from at least tieing England. Another substitution could have given us some fresher legs. Hopefully Glen gets to start against Paraguay. As bad as people say MLS is, Glen controls the ball really well and is explosive. Then they can use Latapy off the bench as a sub and have 2 decent threats instead of a defense only squad. Either way, congrats to the Brits. Regardless of what happens with Sweden today, we have to focus on beating Paraguay... and maybe getting a little help from England if needed.

My other team? USA? Painful. We should have sent the Oakland Raiders. Yeah, the whole team would red card out within 5 minutes, but it'd at least be a good kind of painful to watch.

If T&T and USA don't advance... well then, it's time to start cheering for the allies, England and Australia and Italy, but T&T still has a slim chance.

My Saturday prediction has the Italians owning the Americans, and the Czechs owning the Ghanans to lock up Group F.

I think the English got a nice boost from Wayne Rooney's presence that day, even though their late goals came from Peter Crouch & Steven Gerrard. Gotta hand it to the T&T boys; they did everything they could do, just couldn't hold off the bending setup of Beckham or Gerrard's impressive rifle shot.

I watched most of the Paraguay v. Sweden game, and I gotta say that that could've been a high-scoring duel, but as it was, Sweden KO'd Paraguay with Ljungberg's header off a cross. The Swedes couldn't have picked a better time to score a goal after T&T blanked them off their 30-goal qualifier matches. I think both England and Sweden will have to use their starters since their match will determine their positions in the KO rounds.

And how about those Ecuadoreans stepping up their sea level game and KO'ing Costa Rica. They'll be a team to be reckoned with in the KO rounds.

Friday Predictions:

Argentina romping Serbia & Montenegro
Holland cruising past The Ivory Coast
Mexico gets a convincing win over Angola

Swedens offense is way off. They were averageing 3 goals again. Took them almost the whole match to score against Paraguay. Good game though.

England finally did something and put up the 2-0 win or T&T, ya not a huge step but its a step in the right direction. T&T was pumped going it that match, and i also give them credit. They did the best they could but you just cant do your best against a powerhouse such as England, you have to do EVERYTHING, PERFECTLY, ya they did their best but it wasnt enough.

Ecuadors win wasnt too much of an suprise to me. After seeing their last game i figured they would win.

I agree with Lords predictions but i think IVC is going to put up another great fight.
